For over ten years, I called the Center for Story-based Strategy (CSS) my political home. I wore a lot of hats there, eventually stepping into the Co-Director role. Alongside an incredible team, I helped grow an institution that trained thousands of leaders and hundreds of movement organizations to harness the power of narrative for change.

These days, I get to partner with rad folx who need a boost of facilitative support. Sometimes that looks like dreaming up new futures, launching bold initiatives, weaving people together, or strengthening the places where we work. No matter the project, I bring energy, creativity, and thoughtful planning to help teams do their best work.

I carry deep gratitude for the teachers and mentors who poured into me and shaped my path in movement work. Giving back by supporting the next generation of movement leaders feels essential to me. I truly believe our movements are strongest when we show up as whole, healthy people.

Before CSS, I was a student organizer at UCLA and got to lead projects like the JazzReggae Festival. Then I ran a food truck and tried out a handful of other creative projects. I’m still learning how to blend my passions, politics, and values to create work that feels useful, joyful, and real for others, and for myself.

My family’s story stretches from Los Angeles to Japan to Taiwan/Formosa. I was born in LA, but English is actually my third language! Reconnecting with my roots and ancestral lineage is a journey I’m still on, and it’s deepened my pride in my Taiwanese culture and my place in the diaspora. Boba milk tea forever!

I’m also a classically trained musician with a big love for jazz, and a former junior golfer finding my way back to the game and its lessons as an adult. A lot of contradictions.

But most importantly, I’m Sky’s mom. She’s one year old and my greatest joy.
