The work has familiar names:

  • Strategic Planning

  • Retreats and Convenings

  • Organizational Development & Management

  • Initiative Building

  • Strategic Communications or Narrative Strategy

What matters is how we approach it:

  • A strong plan doesn’t bet everything on one future. We need strategies that account for changing conditions.

  • A gathering only matters if something changes after people leave.

  • Healthy organizations don’t avoid tension; they build the trust and capacity to work through it.

  • What if instead of building initiatives for others to join us, we’re the ones being invited instead?

  • Communicating beyond magic words.

What shapes my practice

My practice lives at the intersection of racial justice, radical imagination, and the real, everyday work of organizations. I feel grateful to have learned alongside communities and teachers who remind me that how we work together is not just a path to change, but part of the change itself.

Here are a few I return to often:

"A revolution that is based on the people exercising their creativity in the midst of devastation

is one of the great historical contributions of humankind."
